Martial Artists: Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris is an American martial artist, actor, film producer, and screenwriter, born on March 10, 1940, in Ryan, Oklahoma. He rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s as a martial arts action star, known for his roles in films such as "Way of the Dragon" (1972), where he famously fought Bruce Lee, and the "Missing in Action" series. 

 

Before his acting career, Norris served in the United States Air Force and became a successful martial artist, earning black belts in multiple disciplines, including Tang Soo Do, Taekwondo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is also a former champion in karate and has won numerous championships.

 

In addition to his film career, Norris is well-known for the television series "Walker, Texas Ranger," which aired from 1993 to 2001 and showcased his martial arts skills and moral values. Beyond entertainment, he has become a cultural icon, particularly through the "Chuck Norris Facts" internet meme, which humorously exaggerates his toughness and invincibility.

 

Norris is also the author of several books on martial arts, exercise, philosophy, politics, and Christianity. He is actively involved in philanthropy, particularly in support of programs for at-risk youth and military veterans. Throughout his career, Chuck Norris has become synonymous with martial arts action in American cinema and continues to be a beloved figure in popular culture.
